For almost 100 years Dr.-Ing. Max Schlötter GmbH & Co. KG has specialized in process development, production of chemical products as well as the development and construction of plants for surface plating.
This is a solid basis to present themselves as official sponsor on the International Trade Fair O & S and to welcome the professional visitors from all over the world.
From 08th to 10th June 2010 Schlötter didn’t only draw attention on the visitors as sponsor of the fair but convinced the professionals of the branch by a successful concept of booth as well as new products and control system „Made by Schlötter“:
Among other things the company presented on the O & S there were three innovative products SLOTOREC CN, SLOTOLOY ZN 210 and SLOTOFIN 80 as well as the control system SLOTORONIC PROwin.
“ We’re very pleased about the extremely positive feedback for our booth, in comparison to 2008 it had an open design and that our product innovations were very well received by the interested audience”, according to René Moulin, Schlötter service department.
SLOTOREC CN
One of the highlights, presented by Schlötter on the O & S was SLOTOREC CN - break down product removal equipment. Cyanide which forms during the plating process in zinc-nickel electrolytes can continuously be removed without any process interruption. This process gives the users significant advantages, like e.g. higher process stability, more uniform appearance of the zinc-nickel layers as well as lower consumption of additives. This produces a reduction of ongoing operational costs. “SLOTOREC CN also reduces the quantity of “inactive nickel”. Lower operating nickel concentrations result in lower drag-out losses”, explains René Moulin.
SLOTOLOY ZN 210
With SLOTOLOY ZN 210 Schlötter presented a new zinc-nickel alloy
electrolyte - an alkaline, one-step barrel process for the deposition of zinc-nickel alloy coatings with a nickel content of 12 - 15 % w/w. In comparison to the previous process SLOTOLOY ZN 60, SLOTOLOY ZN 210 makes it possible, thanks to an innovative additive system, to plate difficult steel types with bad starting behaviour in a one-step barrel plating process. The Zinc-Nickel SLOTOLOY ZN 210 deposits semi-bright to bright zinc-nickel layers with an excellent metal- and alloy distribution and shows a very good covering power.
SLOTOFIN 80
SLOTOFIN 80 completes the trilogy of new processes. This sealing process is an aqueous alkaline, chromium-free solution which contains inorganic compounds.
It is used for post-treatment of passivated zinc- and zinc alloy surfaces. Analysis show that the corrosion protection of zinc plated and passivated parts can be increased to over 400 hours in the neutral salt spray test according to
DIN ISO EN 9227. The Sealant SLOTOFIN 80 is free from volatile organic compounds.
SLOTRONIC PROwin
Next to the new processes, Schlötter introduced to the interested professional visitors its new control system SLOTORONIC PROwin. This control system has been developed to optimize the throughput and process stability of appropriate plants. SLOTORONIC PROwin is multifunctional, clearly-arranged and simple to use. A commercial computer running on Windows is the basis of the control system. The program sequences can be chosen freely and universally combined with each other. With the efficient software, the user is able to manage product- and master data with numerous additional functions, simulate program sequences on the screen, read error messages displayed in clear text and in addition make adjustment of still more control parameters for optimal production processing. With SLOTORONIC PROwin plants can be controlled by a fixed rhythm, variable or by a special solution. Highest possible flexibility is guaranteed by the possibility of a constant extension and modification to adapt changing demands on processes. By the individually adjustable parameters, the control system decreases in process steps, plant- and electrolyte components resulting in the energy-, chemical-, and personnel savings. As a competent partner, Schlötter can optimize SLOTORONIC PROwin according to customer wishes and is therefore able to offer the ideal solution.
