Young Platers visit Schlötter Ireland DAC

2019-02-26

During their four-day tour to Ireland in February 2019, the students of Class FTCG2 from the Technical College for Electroplating (Schwäbisch Gmünd) also visited Schlötter Ireland DAC, the Irish subsidiary of Dr.-Ing. Max Schlötter GmbH & Co. KG, which was established in 1976. Schlötter Ireland DAC is located in Naas (Co. Kildare), approximately 40 kilometers south-west of Dublin.

During their visit in Naas, the young platers had the opportunity to get to know the Irish subsidiary. During their tour around the factory the students were shown the warehouse, the production site and the laboratory and received information about the various business areas of Schötter Ireland.

In addition to manufacturing proprietary chemical processes for electroplating for Schötter Germany, Schlötter Ireland DAC has successfully diversified in the past 15 years, specialising in contract manufacturing of chemical products (for example ultra-pure water) for the medical device and healthcare industries.

After visiting Schlötter Ireland DAC, the group took part in an exclusive guided tour at Newbridge Silverware. Newbridge Silverware is a well-known Irish manufacturer of cutlery, cooking utensils and jewellery. During their tour, the group visited the production site, including the plating shop.

All in all, the students from Schwäbisch Gmünd were favourably impressed by their trip to Ireland.
